WALKING DRAWINGS

Walking Drawings experiments with a new way of drawing, swapping traditional media with landscapes, video pixels and people. Inspired by the Nazca Lines of Peru, a large-scale drawing is made freehand on a sandy beach with various garden implements. Afterwards, people of different ages, genders and cultures are led onto the drawing and invited to walk its lines. The entire process is filmed and photographed. Three Walking Drawings video films will be available in October 2010 for installation in a collective multi-screen environment using motion-tracking technologies. The films were shot in Hastings, Morecambe Bay and Duddon Sands. Large format still photographs can be exhibited alongside the installation.Read more
